Most tower operators can tell you what their backup power system is supposed to do, but few can tell you what it is actually doing right now, at 2 a.m., mid-outage, without getting in a truck. Evoltix built the remote power intelligence platform called IntelliCore to close that gap.

IntelliCore is the coordination layer behind every Evoltix Zero-Glitch Power Module (ZPM)™ deployment, on-grid or off-grid. Every ZPM ships with IntelliCore already managing the site: grid input, battery routing, generator start and stop, and the alarms that used to require someone driving out to check.

Who Uses IntelliCore

Two kinds of buyers end up asking this question. The first is a SWIC (Statewide Interoperability Coordinator) or PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) facility manager responsible for a P25 (Project 25) radio tower network, who needs proof a site stayed powered during an outage, not just a promise that it did. The second is a Director of Network Engineering or VP of Network Operations at a regional carrier, independent tower company, or WISP, who is measuring generator hours and truck rolls against a budget line, not just uptime.

Neither team typically has a fully staffed Network Operations Center (NOC) watching every tower site around the clock. IntelliCore does not replace a NOC. It is built to give sites that don’t have one a working level of visibility they otherwise couldn’t afford to staff.

What Is a Power Intelligence System?

Evoltix uses the term power intelligence system to describe what IntelliCore actually is: a single coordination layer that manages grid, generator, solar, and battery inputs, along with the inverters, rectifiers, and environmental systems connected to them, instead of leaving each one to run on its own separate controller. Most tower sites today run exactly that kind of disconnected setup, with a rectifier from one vendor, a generator controller from another, and no shared view across any of it.

Evoltix IntelliCore replaces that patchwork with one platform, so an operator managing five sites sees the same interface and the same alarm logic at every one of them.

IntelliCore Command: On-Site Control and Visibility

IntelliCore Command is the local interface that runs directly on the site’s System Control Module. It works whether or not the site has an internet connection, because it doesn’t depend on one.

  • Real-time system visualization
  • Power source and battery monitoring
  • Generator, solar, and charging controls
  • Environmental controls for shelters and cabinets
  • Local alarms, service tools, and configuration settings

For a technician standing at the site, Command is the difference between guessing which breaker tripped and reading it off a screen.

myIntelliCore: A Remote Power Intelligence Platform for Every Site

myIntelliCore is the browser-based side of the platform: the part that gives an operator visibility from a laptop or phone without driving to the tower. It pulls the same data Command sees on-site and puts it in front of whoever is responsible for the network, wherever they are.

  • Customizable dashboards
  • Real-time notifications and email alerts
  • Battery, generator, and solar performance graphs
  • Power quality and load analytics
  • Multi-parameter trending across long time ranges
  • Automated weekly and monthly reporting

It’s the layer that cuts down on site visits, not by promising nobody ever drives out again, but by telling an operator which sites actually need it before the next scheduled truck roll.

Built on a Proven Industrial Platform

Every IntelliCore deployment runs on the Evoltix System Control Module (SCM), an industrial-grade platform engineered for tower environments, not a data center rack.

  • A rugged 2U chassis
  • Industrial PC motherboard
  • Solid state charge
  • Relay and dry-contact interfaces
  • CAN bus communications
  • Ethernet and USB connectivity
  • Dual-fan thermal management

What This Looks Like in the Field

“I’ve lost sleep worrying about power failures, often finding out after they happen. [Evoltix] changes that by actively mitigating potential issues and sending alerts before there is a problem.”

— Broadband Manager, Hoopa Valley Public Utilities District

A backup power system you can’t see is a backup power system you’re guessing about.

That’s the practical value IntelliCore is built around: finding out about a problem from an alert instead of from an outage. A rural Alaskan WISP operating remote tower sites in some of the most demanding conditions in North America cut generator runtime by up to 91% after deploying the ZPM that IntelliCore now monitors and reports on daily. One state DOT network scaled from a single ZPM unit to more than 20 after seeing the field results firsthand, a decision driven by exactly the kind of site-by-site performance data IntelliCore surfaces.

Site Management: Without IntelliCore vs. With IntelliCore

The difference shows up less in any single feature and more in how a multi-site network gets managed day to day.

CapabilityWithout a Coordinated PlatformWith Evoltix IntelliCore
