Mechanical Designer / 3D CAD Technician
The Mechanical Designer / 3D CAD Technician produces and maintains 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOM documentation for Evoltix Energy’s mechanical designs, working from direction, sketches, and markups provided by the Senior Mechanical Engineer and Mechanical Engineer II. While this position takes direction on assigned work, it is also expected to apply sound design judgment — identifying potential design, manufacturability, or drafting improvements during modeling and drafting work and raising them for engineering review. This position requires solid working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and current company CAD standards.
This position reports to the Senior Mechanical Engineer.

- Maintains BOM structure and part-number accuracy for assigned drawings, consistent with company part-numbering and drawing standards.
- Checks drawings for completeness, consistency, and adherence to company drafting standards prior to submitting for engineering review.
- Identifies potential design, manufacturability, or drafting improvements encountered during modeling and drafting work, and raises them to the Senior Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Engineer II for review rather than executing changes unilaterally.

- Supports translation of vendor-supplied models and 2D packages into company drawing formats where applicable.
- Maintains organized drawing files and revision records in the company’s document/ERP system.
- Assists with basic drafting support for Production, Materials, and Field Services as directed.
