Every investment decision for regional and mid-tier WISPs comes down to a balancing act: expand coverage and improve service while keeping costs under control.
Rising fuel prices, unpredictable utility rates, and aging backup systems can quickly reduce profit margins and, even more concerning, risk the connections that your customers depend on.
At WISPAPALOOZA 2025, we’ll be showing how smart energy management and hybrid energy systems can solve both challenges at once. By reducing OpEx and carbon footprints while delivering battery-first reliability, HCI Energy gives WISPs the tools to scale sustainably and stay ahead of the grid
See Us on the Show Floor

We’re bringing our Zero-Glitch Power Module (ZPM) and Hybrid Power Cabinet to Las Vegas this year, giving WISP leaders a chance to see firsthand how our smart hybrid systems can transform network economics.
Smarter energy management enables WISPs to:
- Lower OpEx by reducing fuel usage and costly site visits
- Extend asset life for stronger CapEx ROI
- Deliver battery-first reliability to eliminate downtime
- Provide remote monitoring with predictive failure alerts
- Support long-term scalability in areas where the grid can’t keep up
In the Field: Highway of Tears

HCI Energy’s hybrid systems are helping close critical coverage gaps along British Columbia’s Highway of Tears, a 720-kilometer corridor that has been the site of tragedy for decades.
Working with a major Canadian wireless carrier, we supplied off-grid hybrid power for new cell towers along the route—ensuring continuous coverage and a safer environment for those traveling between communities.
People traveling this economic corridor and vital connection between communities will no longer be out of cell service range if they need to call for emergency services. It is a critical milestone in helping prevent future tragedies along this route, bringing comfort to people who use the highway and are now safer because of this connectivity.

This year in Las Vegas, we’re bringing:
- A Hybrid Power Cabinet—a rugged, compact system built for smaller sites and edge deployments
- The Zero-Glitch Power Module (ZPM)—our proprietary battery-first power management that prevents downtime and predicts failure points before they happen
Our team—Scott Briley, Scott Tampke, Scott Rowland, Bernie Dugan, and Rebecca MacLeod—will be on hand to demo the technology and share how hybrid power can help protect your profitability.
